Forget distant distilleries and dusty traditions, People’s Cut is your invite to co-create something legendary right here in Aotearoa. Instead of waiting on someone else’s dream, we’re handing you the reins.

We’ve planted ourselves in Frankton, right here in the beating heart of Hamilton. It’s not some postcard-perfect wine country; it’s better. It’s grit, graft, and good people. Our whisky matures under the watchful gaze of Waikato’s moody skies, soaking up the rhythm of warm summer days and crisp winter nights. The barrels still breathe, expanding, contracting, and working their magic, turning humble spirit into liquid gold with a bit of Frankton attitude.

You pick your barrel share, we handle the mash, distillation, and maturation. Typically, five years before your dram is ready, but patience breeds brilliance here. When it’s tip-top, we bottle it and deliver your cut straight to your door, ready to be cracked open with mates.

INFORMATION

AGEING

The whisky matures in the barrels for a minimum of five years. During this time, it develops its complex flavours as it interacts with the wood and the surrounding environment.

The Process

  • Maturation: The whisky absorbs flavours from the oak and undergoes chemical changes.
  • Angel’s Share: A small amount of whisky evaporates each year, known as the angel’s share.
  • Monitoring: Regular sampling ensures the whisky is aging as expected.
MALTS
New Zealand Single Malt
  • Made with great care & pride, this single malt whisky has been distilled with 100% New Zealand-grown malted barley.

Peated New Zealand Single Malt
  • The same malted barley used in our standard Single Malt is sent through a smoker using 100% New Zealand Peat. The resulting malt is infused with a traditional mild, soft, earthy flavour with phenols 50+ppm as standard. If you are a freak for the peat, we can even customise the phenol levels upon request!
CASK TYPE

First time out, they hosted bourbon in the States. Now? They're over here, giving your whisky a second act that's all kinds of characterful. Think: silky coconut, warm vanilla, sticky honey, soft caramel, rugged oak, worn leather, a whisper of nutmeg, a cheeky almond twist, and a drizzle of butterscotch. It’s the kind of flavour rowdy enough to stand on its own, but clever enough to lift your spirit. After three years, we can even shift your whisky into another cask type, tailored to the taste or finish you’re chasing.
