OUR MISSION

Barrel ownership is a proud tradition that many distilleries offer. Shrouded in mystery, heritage and exclusivity, the practice is typically reserved for the rich and famous or those in the know.

We've made it our on a mission to bring barrel ownership to the people. From the clueless to the connoisseurs, we're pulling back the curtain, demystifying the process and offering an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of New Zealand's burgeoning whisky industry.

A CELEBRATION OF TOGETHERNESS

People's Cut is no secret handshake or private club, it's a celebration of togetherness.

In a world where whisky is often associated with exclusivity and solitude, imagine instead a sanctuary where the clinking of glasses and hearty laughter resound, where old friends gather, and new friendships form.

At Good George we believe whisky shouldn't be kept secret, but savoured as a catalyst for memorable moments. So we're giving you your cut, with People's Cut.

WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH BARREL OWNERSHIP?

You buy a barrel (or a share in one).

We make the whisky (with your help) and look after it for you while it matures.

We wait.

When the whisky is ready, and only when it's ready, we bottle it and deliver to your doorstep.

Typically this is five years from when the cask was filled. You can age it for longer, but we prefer to drink it.

BECOME A BARREL OWNER

FROM GRAIN TO GLASS

The best part is though, we'll bring you on the journey. We believe that the experience is as important as the product, so all ownership options include a way for you to get involved in the process.

From distillery tours and annual tasting notes to barrel selection and mucking in on mash day, you can track the progress of your whisky from grain to glass.
